CASE STUDY
Camley Street, London Borough of Camden
Consistent regeneration is vital for London, providing value, prosperity, and opportunities for the City’s ever-evolving communities to thrive. The Camley Street regeneration is key to Camden’s innovative and future-focused regeneration approach for the borough.
Spanning two sites —120–136 Camley Street and 3–30 Cedar Way — and a key project in Camden’s Community Investment Programme, the regeneration will create new housing, commercial spaces, and public areas.
This initiative is breathing new life into a deprived area and strengthening Camden’s connection to the Knowledge Quarter — a hub for innovation, life sciences, and technology. Our brief from Camden Council was to deliver a compelling narrative, supported by the community, to attract a development partner aligned with the council’s values and vision for integrated sustainable growth.
Our strategy was anchored in community engagement, working with existing stakeholder forums and developing new consultation channels providing the community opportunities to contribute to the development brief.
We delivered an evidence-based narrative that shaped the identity of the development, giving it character and presence. Materials and communication initiatives were developed in collaboration with the Council, JLL and the architects FCBS and were carefully mapped to the procurement timeline.
This integrated campaign featured a bespoke brochure, website, press outreach, and stakeholder events, ensuring the narrative reached the community and potential developers.
The result was the appointment of a Joint Venture between urban regeneration specialist Ballymore and Life Sciences Developer/Operator Lateral in October 2024, partners who aligned perfectly with Camden’s vision.
Our work has facilitated a new public-private sector initiative that connects Camley Street to the Knowledge Quarter, strengthening this nationally important asset while transforming the area, creating jobs and local economic growth.
